Thanked: 118I had a Friodur that same close to being my LEAST favorite razor.
I could not put a satisfactory edge on it to save my life. Then at the SoCal Meet Marty (Euclid440) helped me bevel it and dial it in. Now I am amazed at how long that blade can hold an edge.
I learned to be more patient. I was just fighting with good hard steel and a lack of bevel setting experience on the same.
Thanks again Marty!May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

this is like trying to pick a least favorite child
it is just wrong,
the poor things are just a bit misunderstood that's all
but a perfect example of YMMVSaved,
to shave another day.

Thanked: 12I agree splashone. One of the things I enjoy is buying a no-name razor off of E-Bay in very poor condition, cheap, ugly, and turning it into a great shaver. Not necessarily very handsome, but a great shaver - and like you, I have way too many razors!

My least favorites become wind chimes. Just saying!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 2I have no trouble picking my least favorite child: My Dubl Duck Goldedge. Nothing to do with bevels, patience, practice. I just don't like the damn thing! It shaves as well as any in the herd, but ... it just doesn't suit me. Come to think of it, that's the one in my rotation that's most likely to leave a nick. I tend to ignore it for long stretches, then feel obligated to put it to work--and still don't like it, not even the "scritch" sound it makes. Just a poor marriage, I suppose.
