Thanked: 1TI 'Le Grelot' basic black
Hi to you all- first post here-
I've just got a new S/S TI Le grelot from the 'invisible edge' in the UK. No bling- but as I said to a mate, bling doesn't shave you
I've been trying out cheapy razors from the bay, learning to hone and strop and got a couple of godawful razors actually close and smooth to the point I'm more than happy to shave with them. I should add this has taken at least 18 months on and off so I'm in no rush!
So, back to the TI- I'm building up my courage to try it out, don't want to damage it or feel it's not as good as my personally honed razors. Any advice for a 1st shave? And best way to look after the razor after the 1st use?
I've spent some time on here and learnt a lot- thanks for that! When I have more experience I'll try to give help back.
best wishes
Mr.T

Thanked: 580Should be shave ready out of the box, don't strop it. Make sure it is clean and dry before storing it.

I'm not familiar with that seller. Unless it's being sold "shave ready" you should assume that it needs to be honed. If you're not sure try a hanging hair test. Or try to shave with it, but have another razor on hand.

Thanked: 3226No first hand experience with the "invisible edge" but have heard on here that they supply razors shave ready. If that is so do not strop before shaving the first time. You will know right away the first couple of strokes. Basically as Grazor said in post #1.

Thanked: 1081Welcome to SRP Mr T.
As already mentioned it will come shave ready, no need strop, just enjoy the shave.
Ive got the same razor from Steve. If you wanted to bling it up you can always get the TI replacement scales that he sells.
Id drop Steve a line and ask if he honed with tape so you can carry on when maintaining.
Good Luck
Mark
