I measure from top of spine to widest point , then at smallest point from edge to spine if the blade is tapered or smiles
    examples ..
7/8 for a consistent blade width across blade
    12/16-7/8 from heel to toe

is it right ?? I don't know but that's how I do it ..lol

If you're selling the razor on Ebay, you measure from the top of the spine to the edge and add about 1/4 inch.

If you are buying on Ebay look for a seller who tells you how long the razor is but does not tell you how wide the blade is.....

And I am pretty sure I know the 4/8; 5/8; and so on to mean the razors width from spine to razors edge in terms of inches??? In other words a 8/8 to be a 1" in distance from spine to edge < or cutting edge????

See celticcrusader's post. Personally i think it should be from the edge to where the spine would contact if laid on a flat surface, but i think most sellers would measure to the back of the spine to get the absolutely widest measurement.

I think it is just easier/less confusing to measure top of spine to the edge than from where the spine contacts the hone to the edge.
