Japanese western straights...?
I have been looking for information but it seems to be pretty sparse. I'm not sure if I'm using the wrong key words or something. I would like to know more about what kanji to look for as far as quality is concerned, etc. also interested in knowing more about Japanese ground straights of various regions steels, ie Swedish, Spanish, English steels. Hopefully this all makes sense.

Just to clarify...
Are you looking for a quality kamisori or a western straight made from Japanese steel? Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead - Charles Bukowski

Thanks guys, just glanced at that Japanese thread and thought it was all kamisori. So no brands to look out for?

To many "brands" to list easily. If you come across something you think you may like you are welcome to send me a private message and I will give you an answer.
