Thanked: 45A new TI to add to the lineup - 7/8 Feston Blond Horn
TI calls this a "Hook Nose." I will call it an edgy Spanish Point. It is a hefty razor for sure. The lines are fantastic and the edge from Classic Edge is ready to go for sure! I seem to gravitate towards TI a bit in the new production world as I have 3 now. I will see how this compares to my only other 7/8, my Aust...which I think will be pretty tough to beat to be perfectly honest.

Thanked: 498Thats a nice looking T.I. Especially the filework. As I always said, those T.I. boys sure know how to polish a razor.
And with Phil putting the edge on, it will slay whiskers.
Enjoy

That's a fine looking blade. What do you think of the scales? I have a new production TI with horn scales, and they seem just a little too thick.

Thanked: 45I think given the size of this blade and its heft that the thickness give a nice bit of balance. They are about the same as my Aust dark horn scales on that 7/8 by comparison, so I think they are on par with others in the market.
I have 2 other TI 5/8 grelot blades with rams horn scales, and by comparison they are just as thick...but the rams horn is light so those razors don't seem off-balance to me either I suppose.
I guess given that I seem to like this make so much I am OK with how they are made generally!

Very very nice, great looking razor, TI does have some fancy spinework on their blades. I especially like the thumb notch and tang work on yours!
I have an older or different version of that one:

Thanked: 45Those snakewood (I am assuming) scales are beautiful!
I confess I tend to like the thumb notches on the blades I do have (not that I dislike the ones that don't)....I also like that unlike my Bismarck, that the TI cut-outs are jimped. It makes the grip much easier for me.

Drooling on the keyboard -- ah, pretty blades.
How does that TI shave?

Thanked: 45It is funny to me that you say that...I have a very contentious relationship with my Bismarck. I refuse to let it win, but it is the one razor in my rotation that continues to give me grief despite meticulous maintenance. I need to refresh it at 2x the rate of any other razor I own and just don't generally get along with it. It will give me a great shave...but tends to fight me the whole way.
