    Default Buffalo, NY Razors...

Anyone know of any quality razors coming from Buffalo, NY ? Closest I can find is Robeson Cutlery in Rochester which makes a solid razor, but I would love to have something that had Buffalo, NY stamped on the tang. I've only seen one razor, and I can find nothing when I look up that manufacturer, and the razor itself does not look the greatest of quality to me.

Take a look at this list, there are several from New York.

    BUFFALO RAZOR & GRINDING CO.
    Buffalo, New York.
Razor may be stamped "Made in Germany"
    ca. 1906-1935

I don't know about the "quality".

Ya, only one on the list I saw. There are a few distributor companies from the past based there that were selling razors from Solingen. I guess my best bet is to find a random one of them, but it will be a needle in a haystack. In the archive there is a Henkels Iroquois distributed by Weed & CO of Buffalo NY. Need to keep my eye out for one of them. But I'm sure that company distributed more than one kind of razor over the years so maybe I will find some other.

Moershfelder of Buffalo comes to mind.

Not finding it, but thanks for the suggestion on the company to look for. I will keep searching.

Just bought it. Thanks for the heads up. I was looking for that other name Moershfelder up there. Got mixed up about what you were talking about. Hoping the marks on the tang can be retained. Thanks again. I want to build a 7 day set of buffalo razors if I can find 7 different ones.

Went ahead and broke down and got this one too. Kind of a funky shape, wedgy. If it don't shave it will be a decorative piece. Hope the Niagara can be reasonably preserved but a few of those pits give me my doubts. Nice good Buffalo, NY on the tang though. We'll see. It didn't cost an arm and a leg so I'm not too worried either way.
