Default Does anyone have or know about Portland Razor co ?

I am looking at getting a custom razor and I ran across Portland Razor company and their website, I have not really seen any of them for sale on any other sites and was wondering if anyone has one, and if so how is the quality ? and how do you like it ? for the price they look great ! and they also have strops that you can purchase as well. I am looking at a few different ones and just looking for some info on them before I make my choice. here is a link to their site

If you do a search you will see a couple threads about them right here.

PRC makes a nice 1/4 grind razor at a good price point. The backlog is around six to eight weeks. If you don't mind waiting to begin your S.R. shaving journey it's a good purchase. If your impatient like me, I would look at a nice Ralph Aust, full hollow grind, round point from Straight Razor Designs. You can start your S.R. shaving journey in three days, depending on USPS. Once you feel comfortable shaving with a S.R. adding a 1/4 grind razor to your shaving den would be an excellent idea.

cut and pasted from another thread, there are probably more now, if you use the search box (top right) and type in "portland razor" you will get about 10 pages of hits

I tend to be a very impatient buyer as well as impulsive which some times make me get buyers remorse lol, I do shave with a SR now and have around 20 razors or so most of them I have restored. I am just looking to get a nice custom for a good price, I don't want to spend over $400 or so. I was curious how people are liking the PRC razors ... because from what I have read the value is there and they are beautiful for the price. seems like you get a lot for the money.

It's your money and by all means spend it how you choose. I own two PRC custom razors and two Ralph Aust razors. You will not suffer buyers remorse from purchasing a Ralph Aust razor.

I deleted my previous post. I thought you lived in Portland OR. I suggested a visit to PRC. I see it's Portland MI. Visiting PRC may not be an option.

If you want a custom, PRC is very responsive and will work with you to fashion the razor you want. I'm waiting a bit to pull the trigger, but my experience in communicating with them is great. You should find good responses in the links provided earlier. American made by young, energetic craftspeople. Should be worth the wait.
