Any ideas on this one?
It should be the maker's name or brand: "Kawashima"
First, thank you so much to those who translate, and have been doing so time and time again!
I just picked up my first two kamasori, and am curious about the markings. I am hoping someone can tell me what this all mean.
First up is a Inoue Tosuke:

And a Henkotsu:

Any help is appreciated!
Found on side of old jnat.

OK, so I figured out most of the Tosuke. I am only missing the top 2 or three characters now... I believe its trying to say how it was forged, or what it is forged with, as I know "forged" is that last kanji in the top set. Anyone know what the rest of the top says?
And for this guy, I know all of it except where the 4 kanji in a square are. I know the two on the right hand side of that square are "trade mark", but I dont know the left two.Quote:
Thanks again!
Well, I guess it could be 一本鋼打 where 一本 should be Ippon - Japanese, so Japanese steel! Duh... :rofl2:
So a Japanese razor made of Japanese steel, made in Japan...
OK, second = 登録商標 = tōroku shōhyō = registered trademark
登録 = Tōroku = Register
商標 = Shōhyō = Trademark
