Has anyone ever seen of a modern razor that is more like a pocket knife? What I mean is something with a shorter (like 3") and thicker wider handle that folds compactly and could even lock when open. Straight Razors seem universally to be about 5.5" long with about 2.75" of cutting edge, set in 5.5" handles. Is it the manufacturing process that requires the blank that long? Or because of the dexterity the design provides to the user by the length, jimps and tail?

Far from me to reinvent the wheel, but while considering to grind my own blanks, my design mind started to wonder out the box.
