Reverse is marked "Huddger's Best" . The only reference to a "Huddger" in any type of Cutlery was in the Canadian trademark archive.

Fairly certain that beauty was made for the Canadian retailer in Germany by Griffon of New York. There are some threads on the Griffon Antelope here. http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...llow-16-a.html Lovely razor!

I thought the blade looked familiar. Got to agree that is a beauty of a blade design. I have to think that they imported the razor marked with their own trade mark for the Canadian market. If you look at the company description it does not say specifically that they manufacture anything they carried.

The closest I have for vintage is a Jones Bros of Montreal. They were a reseller as far as I can tell and the razors were most likely made else where and branded for them. Other than that I do have a Canadian made razor from the Bear, Perre Rodrigue, in Loydminster Sask.

While on this subject. I often wonder if Ontario Cutlery was made for the Canadian market? We know that they were made in Geneva, NY by Geneva Cutlery.

Ontario is both a town and a county in NY. Interestingly, the town is not in the county, it's in Wayne. I would be surprised if the name on the razor was connected to Canada, but it could be.

There are razor makers in Canada, in fact there are two very close to you. Both of them are members here. PM me if you want names.

I do not have it in hand yet. I will pick it up at the Calgary meet.
