    Default Did I purchase a fake SK-1?

    Hello, ,
I recently purchased a Saito SK-1 razor off of ebay and am concerned that it is not the real deal... The reason being is that there is no stamp of the make "R.Saito" on it... Any SK-1 owners out there able to verify its authenticity?
Here is a link to the ebay auction as well as some photos:

I hope you don't mind me asking: is this a razor or a golf club?

I'm afraid I can't help with your query re authenticity, but I have to say, that's a HUGE smiler. Can't say it floats my boat, but each to his own! As we say here... YMMV!

Looks genuine to me and I've handled a few. One question to ask is why anyone would attempt to fake something like this - or any other razor. Personally, I doubt it would be viable.

Most are made from Swedish steel but I have seen the occasional one made from Japanese steel looks pretty genuine to me why would anyone go to such lengths to produce something so difficult even for the most experienced maker. PS besides the seller zigzagpapa is a very well know and well respected.

Thank you, , great to hear, and great point about the seller , just found it odd that this one is missing the makers stamp,,

Not all of them were stamped R. Saito.
It would be very cost prohibitive to make a fake that looks like the real thing.

Spot on. The cost of making a fake would be equal to making a real one.
