Thanked: 0Denmark need's help....Urgent.....
Hi all.
I have just got into this forum and have only made one post(beginners), starting up.
I have been into straight razors for about a year now.
I have a questions regarding age of razors, makers of two of the razors and pics before and after some restoration. (Not quit finished yet)
I have only done 3 of the razors out of a buy of 7 pcs. total. Found them very local and bought them.
I like the shapes of the W. Greaves & sons + N & R Dodger Universally Approved Sheffield razor. Last one is a James Barlow & sons, ECHO Manufactured Sheffield ( age and history) Anyone out there ?
Dating for these ones.
History on the N & R Dodger ( Cant find any good info on this one)
ALSO:
Do anyone have info for this one, seen one, had one etc.
Check stamp: ?
I really like the forum and all the humongous info on this site.
Hopefully anyone will turn back on these questions of mine.

It says, 'Superior Fine Silver Steel.' Maybe someone will be able to divine a manufacturer from that, I doubt it though. Surely Sheffield. Beware of shaving with it. That crack near the heel makes it a display only piece. Love that Greaves though. Beautiful blade. Nice razors in general in fact.

Thanked: 0Hi Alan II
First of all, tanks for reply.....all to of you ;-)
The razor Has a crack. When I bought the others he could see that I was interested in it but told him regarding the crack...shame.
So I got It for "free" so to say along with the rest.
I liked the decorated horn scale and form of it.
Hmmm.....I still have to visit him again. He had an old collection in a drawer, at least 50 straight razors yet to look at.
These ones I had to buy, before anybody else came by.
There are some razors from 1700 -1800 left also. Have to visit him......SOON.
The W. Greaves & sons. I didn't knew the maker before now. BUT just to see....feel it.... in the (kind of flee store) You could right away tell that it had to be bought.
Al for now.
Thanks again.
