Thanked: 3Trying to get more info on this ERN Solingen Razor 1934 ??
Hello,
I picked this razor up at a antique store in a set of about 10 other razors from a retired barber selling off his old stuff... Or at least that is the story I was told... The set included some well worn razors.. and one seemed to be untouched.. The scales were misaligned and after centering the razor, I've honed it up and it give a nice shave.. But can't seem to find anything definative on this razor other than Solingen.
I assume the 1934 is a model or series number... But any info would be helpful.

Never met an Ern I didn't like. Here's a link with some manufacturer info.

Thanked: 3Good info thanks.. Well I have been having a hell of a time trying to hone my TI... Cleaned this ERN up and started at a Norton 4000...then up to 8000...then on to my Naniwa 12k.... stropping and gave a pretty nice shave for a first honing.. Thanks again for the info..

Thanked: 3164What a smart, minty razor! You did well.
Here is another from the net:
This must have been an earlier, or less expensive incarnation. It makes it very clear that 1934 is the model number. Note that Ern is missing from the tang mark for some strange reason. At first I thought this may have been due to anti-german feeling after WW2, but Made In Germany is clearly visible on the box along with German Hollow Ground on the blade.
Here are two more from the net, sold in 2012 and 2007:
I cannot find that model name in any of the Ern lists, and it is not the Electro Taban, either.

Thanked: 18ERN's are some of the nicest shavers around. The 1934 is the model number. Here is a craftsman version I have.
