As far as I can make out, Gronauer & Schneider was a Barber Supplies Company in Memphis, Tenessee. I have found records for them spanning 1889 - 1905, but they may well have traded outside of these dates.

Here is an advert from the Memphis Directory of 1909:

    Name: gronauer schneider.jpg

Size: 38.7 KB

They could have made their own razors, but it is more likely they imported them stamped with their own name.

    Regards,
    Neil

    No problem.

It seems like the partnership dissolved or Gronauer died or retired or whatever, but here is an advert from 1918 when E. D. Schneider was trading under his own name, and saying that his busineess was successor to Gronauer & Schneider.

    E. D. Schneider is listed as a "grinder" in other listings of this time, and there are razors and stops, etc, with just his name on them.

So, your razor has to be earlier than 1918 at least.

    Regards,
    Neil
