Looking at the pic in the OP . . . is it just me, or does that notch seem "small"? Could it be the angle of the pic?

Do you mean the barber's notch? It is actually fairly small but is a nice decorative touch. I can get my index finger tip in it nicely, though I think it is much more form than function. When I decided to pull the trigger on this design, I was actually more interested in the square point, as it is just that, in the truest sense of the term. I have a light but clearly defined beard, and that square point is a very useful tool for me in terms of shaping it and keeping the lines as I prefer them.

I will say this much, the fit and finish of the blade is very nice. It is beefy as compared to a hollow grind (as it should be) and shaves wonderfully.

Yes, I was referring to the Barber's notch. Looking back to their site, it is no different then in the photo, so I guess it is just my memory playing tricks on me, as I thought it was bigger than that. No worries, and it really was not a criticism of the piece, which I think is great. I went with the Hydra for mine, as I wanted a Spanish point. I already have a vintage with notch, so I went for something new, along with having it double pinned for the looks.
    Good shaves . . .

I certainly did not take it as criticism in the least! I love the look of their double pinned scales. Did you go 6/8 or bigger?

No, just the standard 6/8. I find the "bulge" they put in their scales to accommodate the 7/8 and 8/8 to be "awkward" in appearance. They just look "off" to me. The only thing I added was the double pinning, because an earlier pic of one that had it looked much better to my eye than the off centre single pin that is standard.

I think my next purchase of a production blade will likely be an 8/8, assuming I cannot find a vintage razor to fit the bill (like a W&B Barber's use).

Great looking razor. Scott is doing some beautiful work, and it appears to be worth the wait. Fortunately, he is disciplined to produce quality instead of quantity. May it continue to be so.

This is indeed the case. There is an attention to detail in the fit and finish of his razors is evident without even close inspection.
