+1 on corrosion. If it bothers you, just try some steel wood or light sanding.

Looks like a really nice razor and you got it shining with that polish. If someone is going to hone it for you, sounds like your set.

The anticipation is killing me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the help.

It had to eventually happen. Bumped the faucet with my razor this morning. Barely noticeably but there is a ding in the blade. You have to look really hard but it is there.
I'll strop through it and use that as my practice piece when I get my own set of hones.

Bring it along, we'll fix it if it can be fixed.

You should make one of those your "shaving bff". Those are readily available for $2 or less. It's a nice tall shape, giving you plenty of options on where/how to wipe your blade off. And if your a bit careless, it slices with no resistance & therefore won't damage the blade. Well, not more than the act of shaving is likely to cause.

Most of the fellas moisten it, and leave it in the sink. I find a standard sink & faucet to small & cramped. As an added measure to avoid the risk of rust, I leave my sponge dry and sit it next to the sink. This frees up the sink to partially fill with hot water, and sit my lather dish in to keep warm. It gets rinsed & squeezed out at the end, followed by using the remaining moisture to wipe any soap residue off my blade.

    Hope this helps.

Never would have thought of that. And I have a stack of 6 of those from my last tile job. Will give it a try. Thanks.
