Stropping doesn't have to take more than 30 seconds. You must be on a very tight schedule.

Another point for the Feather system is they are a commidity.
Unless you abuse them (don't use bleach to sterilize) they can be bought and sold with confidence.

I prefer a conventional straight for every day use.
For a travel kit the DX folding has worked well for me.
And at the end of the day it's all very YMMV.

I am interested in the comment about the amount of time between the Feather and a straight. I prep my face the same for both and as far as stropping, if you have a quality straight that is honed professionally, 10-15 strop laps and your ready. A couple of minutes. Thats about the difference in time. Clean up is the same for both. I find the Feather is smaller and can shave in hard to get places easier. Still use my straights most of the time.

It may be psychological for me, because stropping doesn't take that long, and prep is the same. I think because the length of the Feather is shorter than my TI, I feel like I move faster around tight areas (like under the nose). Although now I'm curious so I think I'll use a timer to see if I really do shave faster with the Feather.

I timed my shaved the last two days. Both days I used the same prep and both days I did two passes. Monday I used the Feather and it took me 11 minutes from lathered face to blade put away. This morning it took me 13 minutes from lathered face to blade put away with my TI. The shave is slightly faster for me with the Feather, and stropping adds a bit less than 1 minute. I think psychologically I've rounded so that my Feather is about 10 minutes and rounded up the traditional straight to about 15 minutes. But reality is much closer when not rounding.
