    That link list
    HENRY SEARS & SON
    Chicago, Illinois
    ca. 1883 - 1897

However as far as I know "Henry Sears & sons 1865" was produced in the early 1900's. I don't have the dates handy or remember off hand who made the 1865's. I'll do some digging around when I get a chance. I used to have one and it was a good shaver.

Yeah, its a little misleading, but they were not made in 1865!
    State v. Durham, 323 N.W. 2d 243, 245 (Iowa 1982) (holding that a straight razor is per se a "dangerous weapon").

Actually Henry Sears & Co. started in 1865 and became Henry Sears and Son in 1883. That is where the "1865" comes from...and the trademark (1865) was used from 1897-1959.

Henry Sears & Sons, Diamond Edge faux frameback was my very first traditional straight. It takes and holds an absolutely wicked nice edge.

    Hi David,

I would chime in that they're quality blades. 'Almost certainly imported from Germany. You can find ones marked w/ 3rd Reich swastica, some with country of origin 'Prussia'. I've had 3. Each was/is superb. If the person honing does their part, you'll love the shaves. 'Wish they made something larger than 5/8.

On the Company, you'll find the HS1865 to have become a brand name, rather than a person's name with date of manufacture.

"CROW RAZOR, HENRY SEARS & SON 1865" made by the FARWELL-OZMUN-KIRK & CO., St. Paul, Minn. Henry Sears & Son was a company in Chicago that began in 1865 and was acquired in 1897 by Farwell. The trademark Henry Sears & Son 1865 was first used at that time.

(From Worthpoint) This agrees w/ other accounts I've seen.
