Esbjerg Straight Razor?
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has taken the plunge on the new Esbjerg straights at SRP. They're beautiful razors. I'm kind of drooling over the 8/8 French point in bicolor ebony. But before I drop that kind of money, I'd love to hear some first-hand accounts of the blades.
Thanks!~Rob~

Kinda like any other blade , you buy it , use it then decide , everyone's taste is different heck you got guys who like Gol Dollars , but I wouldn't use them , but if it's not right I,m sure Don and Lynn will work it out for you. Tc

Thanked: 171Noticed them a few months back in the Vienna Esbjerg shop.
If memory serves me right, they manufactured in Austria for Esbjerg and while they were beautiful, prices put me off as I can get a custom-made Aust for substantially less.
In that price range, I would rather invest in a Mastro Livi - at least until a few buyers tell me that these razors are worth the price.

I thought Aust just made production razors not custom? I guess I need to look at them again. Tc

Me as well. I am like many here, depends and is very subjective. That said, maybe someone will give feedback. I too did not know RA would entertain some custom ideas. I have two RA's and they are sweeeeeet shavers and very well priced when you start looking at others like Dovo's and Bokers. Both of which I have too and love them.
I do have a hard time justifying custom razors with price tags over $500 a piece! But then again, I am a tad frugal and I just don't see it personally. To date about $250 has been my ceiling for sure. I have looked hard at some others over that but talk myself out.
Maybe there are other Esbjerg's to be had for cheaper that would give you an idea on craftsmanship. To date my $103 RA is one of my best shavers! You never know.

They are a little pricey but if they are worth it I would buy one. I would just like to hear from someone that has one.
