Going to get a new straight
Gentlemen,
I am now officially addicted to the straight razor life and am looking to get another new one. I am going to move up to a 6/8 for my next one and am looking at either a Dovo or another RA. I kinda like this one Ralf Aust - Solingen 6/8" Snakewood French Point Worked Spine (from SRD)
I had a great experience with SRD with my first new razor and have confidence that any razor they sell is top quality. Anyone have a suggestion on one that you use, or anything to stay away from. I know not to get Chinese or Indian steel.
Thanks

Thanked: 4I just ordered the exact one in the photo as well. Actually its at my house waiting for me but I'm out of town until tomorrow so I have to wait. I just noticed its now out of stock too, so maybe I got one of the last ones. I almost got the horn scales version but I wanted to see what it would look like first. Since I couldn't I went with the snakewood. I'd love to see a pic of your horn scales if you have a chance to post one.

Thanked: 4Wow that's beautiful! I don't have any razors with horn scales yet, but its on my list. I guess buying another one with wooden scales just ensures I'll have to pick up another one down the road with horn. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Thank you. It was my first horn scale as well. I really like it. I would love to have a razor with the stag type horn material with the rough look to it. Not sure anyone on production razors does it but I am sure probably a custom could be had. Just don't want to pay that big price tag for it!
