Thanked: 3795It actually is very painless. Email them what you want and they will email you an invoice. You pay it and they send you the razor.
It's easy.
And, you end up with a great razor!

You won't have a problem ordering direct. Just follow their ordering instructions. They will email you a paypal bill a few days after you tell them which razor you would like. On average I think it's about a 3 week process to razor in your hands perhaps a little longer if you are ordering one of their standards and they make it for you.

Thanked: 3I'm just getting into this world so please excuse my ignorance. I'm curious, do you own other straight razors? If so, how does this one compare to those? Also, I've read that they don't come ship shave ready...did you have to hone the one you received?
Thanks,
Rob

I have about 30 or 40 razors. Three of them are Revisors including one that I received only a few weeks ago. I would put that razor against any other that I own and say that it's as good as my Filarmonica, Japanese, Friodurs, or TIs. Of the new production razors that I own (Boker Elite, TIs, Hart Steel, Dovo) I prefer the Revisors to them all. They hone beautifully and shave great. But in my experience, they do not come shave ready. I think they are an exceptional value.

I purchased a razor from Revisor too. Couldn't be easier. As already stated, email your requirements, they send you an invoice, you pay, they send! It helps that their website is so good, and will answer any questions you may have. Great service.
PS... Now I love Boker, but if only their customer service was as good. I was after some replacement scales. They replied wanting pictures of the razor they were for, reason for needing them etc. I did everything they asked, but never had a reply. Very unhelpful I'm sorry to say. Still love the razors though!Last edited by wayne394; 05-30-2015 at 07:08 PM.

8 days for my Revisor, and they can do non stock listings.
Only real difficult thing, is the time difference when emailing. Here in Cali, there 9 hours ahead.

Plus one to OCD Shavers post.
Dont tell my wife , but I own more razors than she has shoes. I do have a little experience.
Now to open the can of worms. Shave ready. This is a highly speculative personal term.
If you are new, then yes it is plenty shave ready.
There are mechanics and there are Custom builders of Hot rods. Most members are of the 2nd group.
Factory is straight off the line. Insert your favorite Custom builders name here these men wouldnt be caught dead in that car as it sits.
Shave ready for them is Hot Rodded to levels that only each can only attain .
And yes I have a few straights on which to base these statements. I recieved a factory shave ready Revisor I am still shaving with. No stropping need yet. Other production makers have lost there way with regards to QC. A new straight should NOT arrive with a frown. Once corrected the steel is of quality yet not up to grade from times past.
Wet shaving is NOT speed shaving, It is quality and attention to detail. This starts with the ore through delivery. We live in a production world .Your only as good as your last hone job.
