Default Need Opinions on AOS Razors

I was walking home from work today and decided to treat myself to a haircut from the Art of Shaving in NYC. I noticed they have a line of striaght razors specifically designed for them, with AOS branded on the blade. This prob isn't new, but I never noticed that before. Has anyone tried one of these or have an opinion on the quality. Looks like they are made by TI. Thanks in advance!

BTW, if you're ever in NYC, be sure to stop by and treat yourself to the haircut and royal shave they offer....expensive but well worth it if you feel like living in the moment.

One thing you can be absolutely certain of...if AOS sells it, it's way overpriced. They cater to those with more dollars than sense. You can probably find anything they sell elsewhere for half the price.

They are made by TI for AOS, there has been some discussion of these razors on SRP but I can't remember if anyone has actually bought/reviewed on as yet.

There's probably nothing wrong with them, but I think the consensus was that most people would stick with a TI direct from TI - rather than pay extra for a rebranded TI.

Yeah they have a huge markup. Wondering if there is anything special here or if it's all infalted by the brand name. The funny thing is the barber in the shop uses a dovo "shavette" and proves that skill overpowers the need for an expensive razor.

I'll bet the Shavette is more for sanitary concerns and their convenience.

I agree. I asked him this and sanitary reasons was why he uses the shavette. It was just amazing to see how much closer he was able to get the shave using that $20 hunk of metal, than I could using any of my razors.
