new razor
Well I finally got the Henckel 72 1/2 carbon and it was as listed. never been used or at least it looks as if there has been no use. really a beautiful blade. now it's the henckel 50 1/2 with a chip that's out there. I don't really know if I will hone the new one or not. I bid on it at a whim and got it. I'm ending up with some really nice shaving razors. I honed a Gold Bug the other night and it does wonderful. A friend told me it shave like the henckels and he's right. It handles nicely around the corner of the mouth when trimming the stash. Just goes to show you that you can't under estimate razors. I also honed up a rather large new Solingen razor. Setting the bevel was a bear. I started out with the 1K naniawa and after forever I stopped and got the 400 naniwa and used it for a little while then went back to the 1K. This worked out rather well. after the bevel was set the rest fell into place and that razor shaves also. never under estimate different razors. give them a try you never know.

Yep! You never know about some blades. A while back I picked up a Pranafa Solingen off the bay for $25 shipped mainly because it was in great condition and said Solingen. Took a chance, honed her up and shaves great. Thought a time or two about selling it but since its the only one I've seen and it shaves so well I guess I'll keep it.
