Thread: Noob Question rust on your razor by the sea

    thanks all... on my list is some Camellia Oil , which as I understand it was used to protect samurai swords , so this seems like it might be ok for razors , those with no rust problems are probably doing the right thing protecting your blade/s since we moved here , locks have rusted , bottle openers corroded in a week , so im taking extra care, Ive seen a Boker with a bone handle , Im looking at :0) all the best !

    I use razor sleeves, you can get them at SRD and they are not very expensive. I live in MD near the ocean and if I am not going to use my razor for say a week or more, I put a fine coat of razor oil on the metal and then into the sleeve. The sleeve also serves as very good protection should the razor fall and it will keep it from opening. No problems. You have more exposure in a poorly ventilated bathroom then the ocean.
