I agree with the ability to review and point out bad or things we dislike as well as the great things we sing accolades over. Why should we only post the positive and never the negative????? I think if you have a absolute mechanical flaw ie. defect that was shipped to you to take that up first with the proprieter first to see what satisfaction can be gained. But to dislike the fact that the blade was not polished like one thought it should be when we all know the photography gurus set the businesses best side to the public is very reasonable.
I don't think this will affect PRC but to gain honest feedback from the masses that will lend to improvements a must. Otherwise, people stop buying because of a simple thing that could have and would have been fixed by the owner if only they known but instead through word of mouth they go out of business! That to me is a dis-service to the owner of the business.
Call me crazy for this belief...............I have been called worse and I assure you, words have never killed me yet.German blade snob!

I am still surprised from my comment to them to update us weekly as to what they are up to has not been put into practice! Maybe they are not reading the comments and post here. Would be hard to say they aren't for sure! I would if I were the owner to get honest feedback. Unless I am afraid to see what they write of me. I wish them luck and hope they overcome what has been put before them. That said.........still holding out patiently for now.

So, they need to polish your razor more and catch up with production demands, BUT, also spend time on the computer looking up stuff like these threads?
When do they get to eat, sleep, or pee?
Small businesses do not have the man power, time , etc... to get it all done.
That's why people that like their product can help them verses crushing letters and expecting them to look at every shaving website that runs interactive website. It's a dog eat dog world and I have on milk bone underwear.

I assume that is why they have a "Now Hiring" banner on their site . . . are we done yet?

Thanked: 2I don't think any of the review comments posted here have been at all unfair, and I honestly think that trying to discourage them does a major disservice -- both to the forum members and to PRC. The forum members are here for honest information and they deserve that ... and if the forum presents a too-rosy picture of a vendor then customers are going to end up being disappointed in the long run, which could be very damaging for the vendor.
I'm very strongly rooting for PRC, but I also think this is really the time for them to double down both on product quality and customer communication. If someone's order is delayed a couple of extra months but the customer ends up being blown away by the quality, that customer is still likely to come back ... but if the quality is even a little disappointing, it's going to be much harder to win a customer's return business after shipping a very-late product.

Guys --
I like all of you. Many of you have been quite helpful to me as I traveled the path back to SR shaving over the last two years. Some have been more than helpful
I hope for that reason none of you will take offense, but I feel a need to speak up. Portland Razor Company, with which I have NO relationship, even as a customer, is owned by a young entrepreneur who has an interest in producing quality, heavy grind razors at a reasonable price. I like that! There's a thread here from a year ago where he expresses that and takes some feedback and advice on his product, lots of which he has implemented. http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...nded-read.html.
But now the guy has testicular cancer and is undergoing chemo, while still making razors. I don't know about you, but if I found out I had cancer in my balls, I'm not sure how my time would be spent, other than praying and spending all my energy on fighting the disease. I say all of this merely to suggest that I don't know how far we need to go on a thread, which is now 6 pages, picking at scabs with his product INSTEAD of sending him an email if we own one we're not happy with or sending suggestions if you're a fellow artisan. That's the pre-internet way of dealing with quality (or preference) concerns, and it is still the "polite" and classy way, where I come from....and I consider most of you to be classy guys.
I'm not sure why this is under my skin, but let's give the folks at PRC a break, eh?!? Especially Scott (he is a fellow SRP member by the way).
If you are offended by this rant, PM me, but don't read my response if you're a sensitive person.Just call me Harold

Harold . . . I get where you are coming from. Truly I do. I have been following PRC since I first became a member here, and at that other shaving site. I was in communication with them for several weeks before actually placing my order. I follow their blog to keep updated on their activities. The thread you linked to was in part what finalized my decision to purchase. So much for background . . .
My comments about the razor I received are an honest account from a Customer. Nowhere did I say I was unhappy. The word I used was disappointed, because it is a more accurate reflection of my feelings upon first unwrapping my razor. I also said the cosmetics were not the end of the world, in my eyes, and mentioned later that it was possibly the result of the rush to fulfill the backlog caused by Scott's illness. The reason I have not bothered to contact them about this is simple . . . For me, there is nothing to contact them about. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase (8/10, remember?), and I have sent Hunter an e-mail to tell him that. A solid shave tonight will garner another e-mail, as well as a positive comment on their blog. I would like nothing better than to see PRC succeed and, more importantly, for Scott to have successful treatment of his cancer. But this thread is just supposed to be an honest account of the product I received, and that is it. I am officially done with this nonsense, except for a final comment regarding tonight's shave. You folks have a good time without me.
