    Default Berti Bertenburg

New to straight razor shaving. Just bought a Berti Bertenburg Solingen and am waiting for it to arrive. Anyone have any information on this razor? The razor was honed with 1-3-5-8-12K naniwa hones and finished on the Suehiro 20K. It passes the HHT and shave test. Is this a good razor? Thanks!

Whether or not it is a good razor depends on a lot of things. What shape it is in, how are the scales and balance, etc. What it is for sure is a vintage razor by a Solingen manufacturer with a good reputation - I have seen and heard about Brandenburg razors (with the B.B.S. etching on the blade face) looking good and handling well.

Assuming it's in working order, with its geometry intact, in original scales then yes, it's probably a good razor.

I used to have one. One of the best razors ever made. Unfortunately, the review died with the review section. But it was stellar.

Exactly as stellar as any other vintage Solingen razor I've ever owned to be precise. Especially the three pin ones.

    Enjoy!
