    Default Travel Razor?

Is there such a thing as a "not a crappy azzed plastic cartridge razor" that can be carried in "carry on" luggage while flying cross-border between US, EU, China, and Singapore?

I found a Military Gillette shave kit In black in a neat little black case I use for camping. I'm not sure of the vintage but since the case is plastic and not bakelite, I don't think it is too old. I'll bring a straight for more civilized trips. It's a perfect no-nonsense mild razor. Even Derbys work well after a couple passes. Check around online. They are out there.

jgjgjg, nope. TSA doesn't allow DE blades in carry on. You could take the razor and stop at a drug store on the other side.

More potentially dangerous thing are allowed on board than a lowly little Gilette. I'd call the airline and ask.

DE blades are everywhere. Buy them when you get to your destination.

I'm a fan of the Merkur Travel razors. Their first, the 933 or 412, epending on where you buy it, is perhaps the most compact one out there. The pouch is smaller than the Parker version which I found too aggressive for me. The newer Merkur travel, the 46C, is in a larger pouch as it does have room for a pack of blades which won!t be going with you in carry ons. However, the handle is a little longer than the other model. Both Merkurs shave like the 34C (HD).

Use whichever 3 piece DE you like ( I got a maggard DE, which doesn't break the bank and I like) and mail a pack of your favorite blades to your destination. you might want to talk to the hotel first, to make sure they'll keep it for you.

Yeah...it's sounding like a lot of pain in the posterior. Might be time for some real creative thinking.

If you are taking a one time trip, why not just buy a razor at your destination and then mail it back to yourself?
