    Default First Henckels razor

I wasn't really looking for another straight razor - heck, I already have four and I have a hard time working them into my rotation as it is...but, when I saw this razor by Henckels I really liked the look of it.

Twenty-two dollars later I ended up being the hopefully-proud owner of it.

    I believe that the somewhat unusual spine design was to accommodate a guard but apart from that I really don't know much about the razor or brand so I guess I have the same 3-4 questions most people would have when buying something mostly based on how it looked;

    1) How is Henckels as a brand w/in straight razors (and of course this razor model in particular),
    2) Any issues you spot with the razor that my relatively untrained eye missed that would prevent it from being a good shaver,
    3) Roughly how old is it, and
    4) At $22 was this a good deal?

Really looking forward to checking it out in person next week or so.

When you say incomplete I assume you mean the missing guard?
But, hopefully that shouldn't make it less useful as a razor I hope?

Cool! I have one similar. Great shaver. The razor originally had a guard on it which could be removed.

Mine is missing the guard as well. Who needs it anyway!

    I rest my case.

Phew, happy to hear it's a good shaver! Makes me feel better about parting with that twenty bucks

IMHO, of the German razors I have shaved with J.A. Henckels have been the best. You stole that one..........Enjoy!

Thanks really excited to get it next week!

Only problem is...now I can see how this can become an issue...it feels like one or two straight razors is not 'enough' you need to 'sample more....'.

Ugh...I so don't need another AD.

For that price you need to listen for sirens and watch for flashing blue lights!
    You stole it, indeed!
I only have one Henckels, an 11v, and it shaves like a dream. Everytime I use it it makes me want more.
Uh - Oh!!! What have I done now!
    Enjoy your new razor!
