Thanked: 45Henckels 11-V (re-ground)
Found this beast last weekend via a private sale. It had been re-ground at some point (presumably due to a chip or something) into a Kamisori grind. The work to grind it was done very well, which is to say there is no apparent warping of the blade (it needed a hone due to some small chips in the edge) and took an edge fairly quickly considering its heavy grind and that it's a Friodur on top of that. It, like my other Friodurs, took a wicked edge. Sadly I damaged the paint, which was mint, when I taped the spine. It lifted off very easily sadly, so what you see here is what is left. I am pretty pissed about that oversight, but otherwise, considering the price I paid, am very happy with this find!

Thanked: 2591Those take really nice edge and shave superbly. That being said, this is not a kamisori grind, it is a symmetric wedge grind. Very common thing in Japan, barbers would grind off the heel, my guess to make the size of the blade to feel more like kamisori.

Any Henkles is likely to shave like a dream. They simply rock. Stainless and carbon. Great razors.

Thanked: 4827There are a couple of "V" models and they are fantastic. Henckels is the greatest brand ever as far as I'm concerned.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 45I just can't help myself when I find them...Henckels seems to fill in any empty spots in my collection....so far I have a 415, 72, 472, and now this 11-V. Perhaps a 72-V is next, or a 17, or a 401....there are just so many!
Well to be fair...my next razor is en-route and will be arriving tomorrow...but it's not a Henckels.
