Default Bubinga Scales on Hart Steel

So I posted in another thread about receiving my Hart Steel 6/8 with the Royal Camo. The scales didn't suit my taste so I asked Classic Shaving to send me Bubinga scales in the most exotic form they had. Of course I ordered it first. But they did exactly as I asked. Beautiful scales showed up this morning. Excuse the water spots in the background. Took pics on a skid plate from a truck in my shop. LOL!

Another set of Hart scales with amazing grain pattern! I have resisted ordering extra scales for mine so far but you are making it difficult

It's so hard when you can't see the selection. I took the gamble. I requested for exotic grain and they chose for me. They did a great job!

+1 on the Wow, those are gorgeous! I also have to echo Ernie - you are making it very difficult not to click on that Submit Order button. I have two Harts in cocobolo and just realized that although they were once nicely figured with quite a bit of orange, they have darkened over the last three years and are now pretty drab looking. I'm sure they will shave better with nice new clothes, right?

For some odd reason it seems that the better looking it is in our eyes it will always do better than before.

Congrats! Beautiful coloring on the wood. I find the blade suits the scales due to the shape and heavy nature of it as well as the thickness at the tang.

May not be everyone's cup of tea though and to be honest I'm not sure about the squared off end either, but I think they were going for a unique look. It suits the Hart square points much more than the rounded versions.

I really love the way my 7/8 square point looks in Cocobolo and for how it feels in the hand. Very smooth very easy shaves. I love to use it on multi day growth. I kind of wish the tang was a bit thinner though. Makes it a little more awkward for stropping. But it has a solid place in my rotation for the way it shaves and looks.

I guess what really got my attention with the squared off end of the scales is it looks like it was made at home. Just seems very simple but cool at the same time. I am a man of exotic taste but sometimes I like a humble and plain look. Kind of a different side of uniqueness.
