I believe it's a picture of a razor in the Knife Museum in Germany. Smokin' straight razor....

    Yeah Phrank is correct!
Unfortunately this razor is not mine and I will never have a chance to get a shave with it. As said - it is -only- a dream razor.
Some of you might have noticed the note in the rigth upper corner - the picture shows a razor that is shown in the german blade museum in Solingen. It is one of not very much razors you can see there (most of the exhibition show swords and knifes). It is a Palmera made by Ferdinand Herberz.
Palmeras were made by two companies or better say grinders in the past. Ferdinand Herberz, Solingen Oligs was the developper of the Palmera and Juan Vollmer later get the rigths to use this brand for the razors he produced in Spain.
However - I have about 10 Palmeras in my collection and personally like the ones made by Ferdinand Herberz more than the Vollmer Palmeras, with exception of the Vollmer Palmera especial.
Also the other brands of Herberz like Cocodrillo, El Plumero and No8Do are absolutely exceptional razors.

Since I was correct in guessing the razor was from a Museum do I win one of your Palmera's?

They are truly special blades. I've never had the pleasure. Though admittedly Greaves are my dream razors. I'd love to own more 8/8"+ but the two I have are staying with me for life.
