    Default #18 blade blanks

Just saw the post on the gorgeous Palmera 18 and wondered if the blade blank used was the same as with the Puma 18?That is aside from the different tip styles and more decorated Palmera 18 blade'

I think there's every possibility that could be the case Bob.

I don't think so Bob, there are too much differences between the blades.
First - the shown Palmera 18 is a unique example- not produced in standard. The blade is at least 10/8 inch wide. The number 18 is stamped on the tang like the well known 14 blankets are stamped. But I don't think this is a typical Herkenrath blanket which was used for the 14/13/12 standard blades. The Palmera has a double stabilizer which was not used at the standard blankets.
Puma used their own blankets for producing razors as far as I know. The 18 at the Pumas is stamped horizontally and the form of the blade is totally different - typical Puma.
