you are right. i torally forgot that. actually, i had a experience like that with my first blade which i honed after a long work and two days later i wanted to work with it for polish and the edge needed to be honed again. well i'm gonna keep this W&B like that. actually it doesn't disturb me too much these little sctracthes and black stains. so maybe later when it needed to be honed but for now i keep it like that.

I have a Wade & Butcher heavy wedge I bought cheap once because it was rusty. I got it, sanded it down & the rust wasn't so bad but it did leave slight citing but my friend who is a wet shaver came over to visit & asked me if he could take it & hone it & I said sure. A short while later, he sent me a short video clip using his phone, showing the blade popping hairs! Even though it looks like it does, it is a favorite of mine & it shaves very well.
