    Default Back up Razors

Hey guys within a week of getting my Boker i already nicked it lol beginners luck i guess (sending in for tlc monday) how ever that brought to my attention the need for a backup razor for those.... clumsy days.

what's your back up? do you know of any cheap yet decent quality blades for sale as a holdover? any recommendations for those on a budget?

Hi there Sixth, being a smart aleck I'd answer your question by saying that my back-up razors are the
forty or fifty I own that I'm not using on the day of a shave

Seriously though, once you get into this lifestyle it's hard to stop at just one (or even a handful) and
I find having straights from 4/8" to 8/8", wedges, full hollows, framebacks etc perfectly normal.

If you're not into restoring a vintage blade and don't want to buy another new straight,
how about considering a feather type razor with replaceable blades :

There are usually some inexpensive razors in the classifieds here... $60 or lees for a shave ready 'back up'.

Either as previously mentioned or whatever you used to use before buying a straight, or even a D/E. I like the S/E razors I have but the spare blades are considerably more expensive than D/E blades.

Stay around here for long enough and you will have backups coming out your ears! I don't have as many as Bongo, but I have over 20 currently. I never intended to own that many blades, but one turned into two etc.
if you are buying another one anyways, you might want to try something different to see if you like it better than your Boker. (Brand, grind, point...)
