A question of age and make
Hi all!
Need some advice on what i bought while on holiday in antique shops in UK.
The first i bought is a Mappin & Webb "Trustworthy", royal cutlery works razor.
It looks like ivory scales.
The second i got today.
it looks like bull horn scales, barbers notch point with "Sheffield" and a sword/dagger stamped on the tang.
Any idea on the age and make of both?
Many thanks!
Gabe

Thanked: 3226Yes, I'd say the one made by Mappin and Webb has ivory scales. Since both razors say only Sheffield and not Sheffield England they are both pre 1890/91. No clue which maker the sword belongs to. Nice finds, congrats.

Nice finds. I never have any luck with flea markets or antique shops.

I think I just answered this question in your member introduction or I'm having deja vu or something.
I think it is a Joseph Allen & Sons "Original Dagger Razor"
Made sometime between 1864 and 1891.
