Default A question of age and make

    Hi all!
Need some advice on what i bought while on holiday in antique shops in UK.
The first i bought is a Mappin & Webb "Trustworthy", royal cutlery works razor.
    It looks like ivory scales.
    The second i got today.
it looks like bull horn scales, barbers notch point with "Sheffield" and a sword/dagger stamped on the tang.
Any idea on the age and make of both?
    Many thanks!
    Gabe

Yes, I'd say the one made by Mappin and Webb has ivory scales. Since both razors say only Sheffield and not Sheffield England they are both pre 1890/91. No clue which maker the sword belongs to. Nice finds, congrats.

Nice finds. I never have any luck with flea markets or antique shops.

I think I just answered this question in your member introduction or I'm having deja vu or something.

I think it is a Joseph Allen & Sons "Original Dagger Razor"
Made sometime between 1864 and 1891.

And you really should learn to shave with them, you won't regret it.
