    Default Wostenholm IXL

Not quite sure how this happened as I had already told myself to not buy ANY more straight razors this year no matter what as I have too many unfinished projects as it is...but...uh...$30 later I find myself the potentially proud owner of this Wostenholm "IXL".

Any thoughts comments on how good a razor it is/can be as well as history (rough date) would be greatly appreciated!

But that's it - not a single more straight razor this year!

(I haven't received the razor yet so these are auction photos...I can snap better/more ones in a week's time):

Very nice find and it looks in great nick.

I'm hoping one of these days to get myself an IXL. My first straight, a Henckels, came in an George Wostenholm IXL coffin which is in excellent condition. So if I have the coffin, I might as well get the razor.

I have several different flavors of the Wolstenholm razors and I can say they are excellent shavers. If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, send it out to be professionally honed you will be glad you did. That one appears to be in fantastic condition did the seller say it was shave ready?

Hi and thanks. The seller didn't say it was shave ready so I doubt it is.
I learned on another forum that this razor is much older than I thought it was - from the mid 1800's which would make this the oldest razor I have

IXcell, can't go wrong with a George.

    Puma? Schmooma....

Now go to Ebay and watch the Mayhem of New IXL buyers blowing the prices out of the water.
