Thanked: 44Ever seen one of these?
Hi fellas,
This is what the seller claims to be a double edged straight for sale on ebay. Here's the link:
Double Sided Straight Razor Ben Hur Chemical Steel | eBay
Has anyone ever heard of one, or know what this is for? Microtome, perhaps?

Looks like a great way to hurt yourself. I'm not sure I would want to shave with it, I kind of like my ears, nose, and lips.
I do hope that somebody comes along with information about it.Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead - Charles Bukowski

It looks Japanese, esp with the term 'Chemical Steel'. A real DE! I sorta dig it. Does look a bit dangerous, however! Heavy grind for that first pass, flip and go with the thinner one to clean up. Were it cheap, I would give it a go!

I rest my case.

That is sharp! (no pun) I have an old Ben Hur slant DE. I may have a Ben Hur straight, I'm not sure. Here are a couple more photos from the listing. Really cool, but it is expensive and ........ you'd have to pay double to have it pro honed ! ..........
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
