Thread: Effilira razor

Does anyone have information about this razor?

Looks like a keeper! Never heard of it but in most cases since it says 'Solingen' it was made in Germany and most likely a good one. I have one I have the only one I've seen, can't pronounce the name (http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-solingen.html), it has 'Komet' in gold wash on the blade, it does say Solingen and shaves like a dream. They don't have to be well known to be good. We both may have us a rare bird on our hands. Get 'er honed up and enjoy!

It might help if you would take note of the various sections of this forum and post in the appropriate location. In this instance, "Razors" might have been a better choice.

Regarding the razor, I too have not seen it before and a Google search yielded little.

At first thought it said Puma under the makers mark but it says Prima. Dovo makes a Prima model but it can't be a Dovo. Also in one of my books I found one very close but not the exact same name. It says Effilrin. Sorry! The steel is made in Solingen so it is of good quality! It should be a good shaver so hone it up or send it out to be honed & it will shave like a dream!
