Gorgeous razors, I have several new production ones, guess you made them! Thanks

And quite a few of the older Thiers stamped frame back razors, including a Le Grelot stamped frame back...are these new razors made with the c-135 steel?

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I really like TI razors. One of the things I do not like in any brand is when the tang "stamp" is laser etched on. It is not very durable. Great looking blades otherwise. Worked spines and streaked horn scales are the creme de la creme from my perspective.

    thank you for your replies...

    No I don't make razor for Thiers-Issard.

I am the new owner of "Le Grelot" Trademark since March 2015.

For years Thiers-Issard has been used "Le Grelot" as well as it was their own but without the full rights. When the last compagny called WELCOME which has bought Hospital in 1985 closed in 1995 they decided to stop making razors cause the buisness didn't run more and has sold to Thiers-Issard all the machines and the blanks.

Thiers-Issard uses these blanks and others from old compagnies which closed during the 70's. Most of the cutlers from Thiers didn't think that one day, some people would be interested of making razor and they sold for few coins the rest of their production to TI.

In those years the production of razor in Thiers was closed to be out, near from zero. After the 2000 and due to internet the demand increased and the last razor maker Thiers Issard started to produce razor in higher quantity and used all the old blanks they could get from old razor manufacter around Thiers.

As the biggest razor maker in Thiers was Hospital ("Le Grelot") TI used more of they blanks and used the mark "Le Grelot" as they began to do the same for "Veritable Fritisse" and "Champion" and others.

To be legal these marks have to be registred and this act has a price. Unfortunally they didn't did it...

Today I make these razors from two different blanks: one is old stock forged by "MAZELIER" and the new ones are forged in Thiers with 100C6 steel.
I have german forged blades too in 115CrV steel from Solingen, but use them for razor with my own name:

Perhaps you can explain more about them then.
Did you buy the trademark, or it was expired and you registered it again?
Any links between these razors and the original ones that the old company made?
How do you make the razors - steel, process, equipment?

Edit: I see that you posted before I asked the questions. I guess you'll be going after Thiers-Issard's continuing use of Le Grelot in their marketing.

Again, is there any other connection between these razors and the old ones other than your ownership of the brand name?

I really like the look of the blades and scales but do not care for etchings at all compare to stamping and deep engraving.
