I think that I got a really nice vintage for cheap. Cant wait till my Superstone set gets hear so I can hone it up.

I don't have experience with that stone, what's it like?
I use Norton's with a finisher.

I wish I could tell you. I bought the naniwa's as they are recommended by Lynn Abrams and Gssixgun as a very smooth finisher. I dont have much experience with honing razors but have been sharpening my edc and kitchen/butchering knives on waterstones for 10+ years. Im buying a few cheap vintages to practice on before trying it out on this razor. I will post my results in a few weeks.

Right on. Though others will say the same, other knives, kitchen, pocket, machetes, axes, perhaps will help you with shine experience, but straight razors are in somewhat of a class of their own when it comes to sharpening.
Watch videos on it. I like gssixguns videos they helped me a lot. Watched a dozen videos many times. Practice practice practice, and it will take possibly years to become a master.
I'm getting ready to send my rotation off to Glen for honing Monday. Even though I'm happy with my level of skill, there's nothing like an expertly honed blade. Glen is a good dude, easy to talk to, there are others who are really good hone meisters as well.
But I had sent one to another (not on SRP) and the shave was not great. So referrals are a good idea.
You been shaving with strait razors for a while?

I have been watching Lynns and just recently Gssixgun on youtube. Thats why Im looking around for vintage razors in decent shape to practice on. There isnt a lot of honing services close to where I live. I'm planning on meeting up with a few members from the forum sometime in the future and will be learning from them. Until then it's practice, practice, practice for me. I'm a recent convert from cartridge shavers. Jumped into wet shaving with both feet and haven't looked back. I'm buying a custom western grind kamisori and it will be shipped shave ready. The smith who is making it has video of him doing a hanging hair test on his blades so it should be a great shave.

The Superstores are excellent stones to work with & they cut nicely. I love mine. I have a Naniwa Chosera 1k for a bevel setter. Always remember though, when buying a new stone, you MUST have a lapping plate since even a new stone does not come lapped.

Looks like you picked up a winner! Just a little polishing and a honing and it will be good to go! I have a simlar blade, it's a nice shaver.

Looks to me it says "Uranium".
