Thanked: 0My one and only ivory razor.
This was probably my Dad's favorite razor. The blade needs some work. I can't wait to get this razor in working order! I felt like sharing after all of the recent ivory razor posts.

Thanked: 56Very nice! I keep my eyes open for ivory. Not much strikes my interest generally on eBay, so my RAD is already burning out. But ivory and a Mastro Livi are on my list.

That is nice. I love the point and the pix really show the grain of the ivory. In addition the collars show that ivory scaled razors were not always pinned collarless. Also, the stamping "Sheffield Steel, Ground in Germany", dates the razor to the 1920s, '30s I think. The Germans had perfected hollow grinding, from what I've read, but the Sheffield Steel was still considered a selling point. Having your Dad's razor, well, that is priceless.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That is a great piece with stunning scales! The fact that it's a family hand down makes it even more special, thanks for sharing

Very nice razor you have there! I like the feel and look of Ivory. I have a Bismarck with Ivory scales I made and have a matching pair of Joseph Rodgers & Sons in Ivory I bought a few years back from a fellow member. I plan to pass these razors down to my grandson.
