A. Stille - Werner Razor - Anybody heard of them
Picked up a nearly NOS razor that I didn't recognize the name. Came in original box. The box says Aktiebolaget Stille - Werner Stockholm 1922. Razor tang is stamped with only the word "Stille" Highly polished blade and tang. 5/8 spike point with jimps on bottom of tang. Ivory colored scales with nickel silver wedge and nickel pins with no washers. I don't know what scales are made of as I still can't distinguish between real ivory and the various forms of imitation. The scale material is very thin. I could not find an entry for this Swedish razor manufacturer in the database. I did find online a few references to an Albert Stille, Stockholm maker of razors, paper knives and blood letting instruments. Compared to CV Heijestrand it is similar, but grind is different and spine back is different profile. Steel is relatively hard and seems the same as the Heijestrand to me. I honed it up and it's a great shaver. Very close, smooth and comfortable. Anybody know anything more about these razors?
