Yes Harold, I understand the monthly fee. I understand stand it renews itself for the amount of time you sign up for before you place your first order. I know the price range. Sounds like a old dog like you has been around and knows exactly what he wants and cares not to try new things or have the shaving Santa knock on his door once a month. That's fine. For someone that is new to the hobby of the fine art of shaving and doesn't mind being exposed to products unknown to him, wants to build up his arsenal and possibly discover something he likes but may have never tried otherwise, it might be a good thing. Along with doing one's own footwork and finding out what other members in the forum have used and like, he can learn and make decisions as time goes on.

I think it would be a great idea for anew wet shaver wanting o see what's out there. However, once you settle into a groove many of us don't get overly adventurous with our product choices.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

I took cues and advice from seasoned shavers and have bought a few things non-recommended. But once you find your niche you are fairly well off and venturing out only comes in the form of samples. I personally don't need to join a club now or when I was new to get a bunch of stuff I will not or would have used.
I like word of mouth and getting samples here and there to find your likes.
But different strokes for different folks.German blade snob!

I suppose short term it might help you to get a range of products but over the course of a year (based on the mid point of the $25-35 average) you could get a few really nice products, or an awful lot of samples/ mid price products.
I am not arguing either way, I don't think it is a bad thing.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Thanked: 56Until I found this forum and switched to straights, I used the same shaving supplies every day, and I had no complaints. Those are still in my mix, because they are good products. but I've acquired others based on opinions I've seen expressed here many times, and now I have a fair range of soap/aftershave combinations that I enjoy, and can mix things up a bit.
I'm sure the same can be had by this club, but the differing factor is that you have to take what they send, rather than picking out what you like. I'd be willing to guess that unless you're really easy to please, the cost works out about the same; buy fewer, specific products you think you'll probably like, or get smaller amounts of more things, some of which you'll like and others you won't. You'll probably spend the same amount if you base it solely on the products that you like and will continue to use.
That said, if the novelty factor is important to you, this club is certainly valuable...there's likely no better way to get constant variety in your mix.

I've used the same Williams puck soap for 35 years. A couple of years ago I was at a shop and the cute chick there convinced me to try some smell good soap. Cost $11, lasted half as long as the Williams, and I thought that I would never get the smell (oils?) out of my brush.
No thanks.

Actually, Seattle, iTs not that at all, but rather that it strikes me like the wine of the month club, where they send you their choices. I experiment with new things a lot,and I've yet to find one of anything that was so good that I would stop trying new things. However, I like to CHOOSE what I try from among things that other shavers have said are great. It's like eating at a restaurant, I like to order what I want, not what the Chef, or my table mate wants me to have.
So, I guess to your original question, among us shaving stuff addicts, nobody has said, yep, I've tried it. Evidently they feel like I do.

Thanked: 12I heard of it, but it seems off. I do not want to follow or like any business on Facebook.

Thanked: 3This is actually my first post here but I feel compelled to chime in here...
I just looked at this club and will compare it to some other clubs I know of that may offer some insight for those contemplating this, and for the record I dont recommend it.
I am a smoker but I do vape, there are many, MANY vape monthly subscription services. Almost all of them let you choose the quantity, 3 bottles, 6 bottles, 12 bottles which you choose based on how much you vape and how much liquid you go through. On top of that almost all of them let you chose what types of flavors you prefer, fruity, dessert, menthol, tobacco, etc... Although I have never joined one of these clubs I have joined a coffee monthly subscription which allowed me to chose how many pounds of coffee a month, dark roast, light roast, flavored, etc...For the record I no longer am subscribed for financial reasons
And this brings me to the wet shave club, there is no customization at all to this subscription besides how much you want to pay a month. I understand the apeal for a newbie who doesnt know what products to get, but by looking at the boxes, you will end up with a surplus of product that you will use once, or never at all for a little less than $300 a year...
Of course YMMV but for those that do join this club I'll take what you dont use (if I'm interested) for cost of shipping
