Hudgers Best?
Any information on this razor? I went home to my moms house and found this on the night table. It turns out my dad hit antique store and picked this little beauty up for less then $20. Not a bad find the scales are a little rough and I may change them out if they will lead to problems such as cell rot? Not sure how that works but i'll put it to the hones after my new 1k comes in. I sold my old one and the worst part about it is that I haven't received one.
Thanks guys.

Thanked: 4827There have been quite a few posted over the years. As far as I know nobody has ever really solved the mystery of who made them. If you do a search for Magnetic Diamond Steel you will see several threads. I have one. I seems to me it was not easy to hone but once tuned in was a fantastic shaver. I still have it here somewhere. I have also used it as a loaner for people trying to get started.

Thanked: 24I believe they were made by Griffon. They are very similar to some of the antelopes. A quick Google should find lots of pics.

I was thinking that it looked the same as an Antelope.

I was going to say it looks a lot like my Daniel Peres (which is a half hollow, just like the OP's seems to be, whereas the Antelope seems closer to a full hollow):
But then again I have seen the same geometry also on "Respect" razors out of Solingen by the Emde brothers, if memory serves me right.
Thing is, it is very well possible that these were all made from similar blanks.
