Thanked: 1A custom English straight
Haven't posted on here for some time- nice to be back.
I've worked my way around various straights over the last 9 months, tried and renovated some e-bay razors, some very good but most bad. Bought (and use regulary) a couple of Revisor razors (superb), a Thiers Izzard (ok but needs constant attention) a Dovo Bismarck ( like a sawblade when I bought it secondhand but honed up well)
Anyway, decided it was time to go for a custom. I approached a guy who posts on TSR and has a FB page (the Straight Razor). I wanted a 8/8 blade, heavy but full hollow ground. The blade to have a slight smile with a french style toe. Importantly though I wanted a highly polished blade but an 'unfinished' spine and tang. After several e-mail conversations and photos we settled on what you can see in the photos.
It is presented in black Kirinite MOP scales with a pewter wedge and silver pins.
What do you think? It is a lot bigger in every way than any of my other razors, simply stunning to look at or hold, very heavy which I like- let gravity work for you in the mornings
I shaved with it earlier today. 14 hours later I still feel shaved!

8/8ths that's big. I had an 8/8ths custom , it got stolen in the post.
I never really got used to the size personally.
Yours is nice, definitely unique .
