Default Comments on Wostenholm's Pipe razors

I am beginning to cull my herd and am looking for advice/comments on two razors by George Wostenholm.

    They are marked;

Wostenholm's Best Full Hollow Ground Razor on one blade
    George Wostenholm & Son
Original & True (picture of pipe) Razor
    Sheffield England

    and

Original Pipe Razor Medium Hollow Ground on the blade
    George Wostenholm & Son
    Sole Manufacturers of the
Original & True (picture of pipe) Razor

Any ideas of their worth, collectible status and/or shaveability?

    Thank you,
    John

Wostenholms are among my favorites. Every time I sell one, it seems, I end up kicking myself for not keeping it...

No idea about collectability, although I doubt they'd be worth much since the pipe razors seem pretty common.

    That's all I got.

I only have one Wostenholm, one of the later ones marked "Peerless" on the blade and the pipe symbol stamped on the back side of the tang. It's an excellent shaver and one of my favorites even though the damned thing cut my earlobe once.

I think they're well regarded for shaveability, don't know about collectibility. Maybe a little more than the average Sheffield razor?

I'm not sure about collectability either. I do know they are superb razors, I absolutely love the one I have. When my latest acquisitions arrive, I plan on refurbishing mine. Out o fcuriosity, what type of scales do they have? Mine has bone or horn scales.

I just got a Wostenholm today I got off Ebay. The price was right and the custom wood scales were worth the price. The razor was an IX L 6/8s which was ground down to a tad less than 5/8s but whoever did the grinding did a good job. It shaves great. I don't think these razors have much collector value. They are too common. Maybe if you had a set with Ivory scales in mint condition you might have something. They are great shavers though.
