I suggest you go to Straight Razor Design and look at the razors. Width of the blade, point and scales determine which would be a good fit. I own 2 Ralf Aust 6/8 and love them. One has a snake wood scale and the other a bone handle. One is round point the other is Spanish. If you are still really confused call SRD. They are really very helpful. For the money, you won't get a better razor then the Ralf Aust. See attached razors. No longer have the black handled 5/8.Attachment 213478
Hi folks. Thanks again for all of your help. I decided to go with a Jerry Stark razor. His razors "spoke" to me so I took the plunge. It is a 6/8 size blade with an ironwood handle. It was finished yesterday and here is a picture:

The main thing I learned is that every one likes different things. I feel in love with a razor like this one and and had this specific one made. I like the idea of giving my hubs an empty razor box so he can pick out a "user" if he does not like this one.
He should love it. Congrats! And it is a smiler or appears to me to be one.:D
He should. And I applaud your bravery
Excellent choice, love the curves on it, both on the blade and the scales. Now dont forget to point your hubby at this discussion, I'm sure he'll enjoy the read [emoji1]
Thank you all! I already feel better. I am going to take several peoples suggestion and let him pick what he wants and in the mean time we have something lovely he can use from time to time unless he falls in love. Before I posted, I just figured their was ONE razor that was the "best." Now I know that is not the case.
Your husband should be very pleased with that razor.
It looks to be a great shaver.
Congrats!
Even the razor is smiling. I am sure your Mr will like it.
