Fantastic choice! Your husband is a lucky man!!
That's a great gift!
Is anyone else bothered by the irregularities in the spine and tail? It looks like the stuff I have done and I expect better.
Nice selection, he will love it! The fact that you went to the effort to seek out advice and took a lot of time to select one will make it even more special:)
Mr CrabbyCakes is a lucky man to have such a thoughtful wife. i'm sure he will be pleased you took the time to do the research and do your best to find a razor to please him.
Guess it's a matter of taste. I personally do like irregulatities that bring out the "handmade factor", but I'll agree, on this one it could have been a bit more subtle. Not that I'm particularly bothered... What caught my eye immediately was the twist, the smile and the fantastic job on the scales.
Are you talking about the texture? If so I asked for it that way. I guess it is an issue of taste. We have many things in our house that are make out of old railroad ties and old railroad spikes. We have knives, bottle openers etc made out of old spikes that all kind of have that texture to it. My hubs love rustic forged items so when I saw that Mr.Stark made razors that had that aesthetic I knew it was perfect. I got the idea for the twist from a railroad spike that we use to shuck oysters. I can see why many people would not like it but I feel confident it will be a hit. But, yes I asked for it to be "highly textured."
I think Utopian means the curve (line of the blade), which is usually uniform on straights.
The line of the top of the blade? I need a diagram!
I think it's perfect. It's a one of a kind. And to think of all the leg work that went into it. How could he not love it. In my opinion I think the pictures could be misleading. you said that it was custom made so I would expect it to have not a perfect look as long as the artist knew what he was doing and it comes shave ready then you have nothing to worry about
