Thanked: 351I just got my 6/8" stainless Ralf Aust and I concur! Great razor!
You got yourself a very nice strop too..... Far better than mine, but alas, it's what you do with what you have that matters!
Enjoy your razor/strop combo.... I don't think you can do any better! Just take it easy, do your shave the way that feels comfortable, and don't *push* things.... Keep your old DE or whatever razor you used to use handy, and don't feel shame if you decide to use the old *safe* way of doing things to finish a shave. That is what I did.... my DE was there, just in case I felt uncomfortable.... It backed up my SR in case it felt a bit dull, pulled too much or perhaps I just felt I was shaking too much. In spite of us saying that Chicks dig scars.... Scars hurt and personally, I'm too old to care about what Chicks think of me!
The key was to have that backup... and not be afraid of using it.... I never used it when I switched, but I always had it there.... *just in case*. That piece of mind is great, and helps steady the nerves, not to mention the hand. Before you know it, you'll be whipping around your face with that straight, wondering what all the fuss was about.
Regards
