I say they are shaving razors with guards. Either way, used to trim also, most likely! Feather may make something.

I just saw the blades you asked about yesterday at Sally's Beauty Supply. They had Fromm's and something else I don't remember, Dorko I think? I also think I saw those handles that you posted there too. Bring them in and I believe they will tell you they are for cutting and maybe thinning hair?

2 1/4" is a standard hair shaping blade... I seem to remember the brand name Fromm from my dads barbershop, but that is an awful long time ago.

And no, these are not meant for shaving, they are hair shaping razors. As a young lad, I recall my dad using a straight razor to cut my hair. He said he prefered it over scissors as it gave a smoother cut, and personally, I liked the slight tug. The warm ice cream out of the dispenser, not so much.

Anywho, a beauty supply shop like Sally's should have them in stock.

    Regards

A guy sold them to me for a $1 saying they were straight razors with a gard so you don't nick your neck. My mom told me it was for shaving and leaving a little scruff leftover (which made no sense to me). I figured that for a $1 I couldn't go wrong. To be honest I really was going to try to shave with them just to see what it did.

I have a Henckels regular straight with a guard. It was an early predecessor of safety razors. I also have a Weck Sextoblade that take stye same size of blades and it is intended as a shaving razor. It is not a stretch for me that those are shaving razors with guards.
